Model License

Last Updated: July 25, 2026

Models you export from the PrintVerse generators are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0), with one modification: personal use needs no credit.

CC BY 4.0 is a standard, portable license. If you share an exported model on another platform, identify the base license as CC BY 4.0, link to the license and this page, and provide the required PrintVerse attribution.

The short version

  • Print it, modify it, sell it. Physical prints, client work, remixes, commercial products — all fine.
  • Commercial use needs a credit to printverse.ai where people can see it.
  • Personal use needs no credit. Print for yourself and your friends freely.
  • You can share the file itself, including selling it, as long as the credit is there.
  • The license is permanent. What you have exported stays yours to use, even if you stop using PrintVerse.

This summary is not the license. The binding terms are the base license plus our modifications, both below.

Base license

The base is CC BY 4.0, unmodified. Creative Commons publishes official translations that are legally equivalent to the English text, rather than separate country-specific licenses.

License summary · Full legal code

The legal code is the binding text. Everything CC BY 4.0 permits, you may do — the modification below only adds to that; it never takes anything away.

Our modifications

M1 — Attribution waived for personal use. You do not need to provide attribution when your use is personal and non-commercial: printing for yourself, for your household, or as a gift. CC BY 4.0 would otherwise require credit for every use.

This is a waiver, and Creative Commons supports it directly — a licensor may always waive conditions or grant additional permissions on top of a CC license. It gives you more than CC BY 4.0 requires, never less. If you would rather ignore this modification and simply credit us every time, that is always sufficient.

How to credit us

For commercial use, the credit must be reasonably visible to the buyer or client — a product listing, item description, packaging insert, or project credits page all work. This satisfies the attribution requirement:

If you modified the model, CC BY 4.0 also asks you to indicate that changes were made. "Generated with PrintVerse, modified" is enough.

What this license covers

This covers the geometry files (STL, 3MF, and any format we add later) that you export from the PrintVerse generators — the Vase and Container studios, and any generator we add later.

It does not cover models from the store. Those are separate designs with their own terms, shown on each store page. Buying or downloading a store model gives you the rights stated there, not the rights on this page.

It also does not cover the PrintVerse website, the generator software, our source code, or our brand assets — those stay under the Terms of Service. Nothing here grants you permission to use the PrintVerse name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse, sponsor, or certify your product. Attribution as described above is not an endorsement.

What we don't claim

We do not claim ownership of what you make. Your parameter choices, your modifications, your prints, and your photographs of them are yours.

We grant this license to the extent we hold any rights in the exported geometry at all. Whether a shape produced by a parametric algorithm carries copyright is genuinely unsettled, and much of it may be freely usable regardless of what any license says. We are not asserting rights we may not have; we are telling you plainly what we permit, so you never have to guess.

Prints are your responsibility

Generator output is geometry, not an engineering guarantee. The in-app print check is a heuristic, not a certification. You are responsible for verifying that a model is safe, functional, and fit for purpose before you print it, sell it, or rely on it — including wall thickness, load bearing, food safety, and any regulatory requirements that apply to what you make.

No warranty

Generator models are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, PrintVerse is not liable for any damages arising from your use of a generator model. CC BY 4.0 contains its own disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability, which applies in full.

Your license is permanent

CC BY 4.0 is irrevocable. Models you have already exported stay licensed under the terms that were in effect when you exported them — even if you stop using PrintVerse, delete your account, or we change this page afterwards. You never need an active account to keep using, selling, or printing something you have already made.

Changes to this license

We may update this page, and changes apply only going forward. A model you exported before a change stays under the terms that were in effect on the day you exported it, per the section above.
